Blackdog Range
The Blackdog shooting range is now in use regularly, so we have decided to walk from Newburgh to Balmedie for the time being, to allow the Army to get on with their training without interruption.
Charities
The walk is in support of the following charities for 2010. You can nominate your preferred charity on the Sponsorship form. You can select one or them all. Your sponsorship money will be distributed equally between the charities you have selected.
CHAS (Children’s Hospice Association Scotland)
CLAN (Cancer Link Aberdeen and North)
Erskine (Caring for ex-servicemen and women)
Teen Challenge (Teen Challenge North East Scotland)

Cost
All participants aged 16 years and over on the day pay a registration fee of £5 towards the cost of transport and other expenses, with any surplus passed on to the charities. Participants under the age of 16 on the day must be accompanied by an adult.
All participants will be sent a sponsorship form and are encouraged to raise funds

Distance
We will be walking from Newburgh to Balmedie, which is 5 miles.
Dogs
Regrettably dogs are not allowed on the bus (guide dogs excepted). If you would like to bring a dog, please take a companion with the dog, to your chosen start point, and proceed to Balmedie and register for yourself and companion.
Duration?
This is very much up to you but we would expect you to take no longer than 4 hours.

First Aiders are available at Balmedie, should you have an emergency there is an emergency phone number.
Fitness
Walking on sand is tiring. All participants should ensure they are fit enough to undertake this type of event and have no medical condition that would put themselves or others at risk.

Insurance
The Rotary Club has public liability insurance which covers this event.
Litter
Please take what you bring home with you. Do not drop litter, please leave the beaches and Country park as clean as you found it.
Lunch
Bring your own to enjoy on the walk or at the end of your walk. Please ensure you take all litter home.

Parking
Parking for ALL participants will be provided at Balmedie. Buses will be provided from Balmedie to your chosen start point, Bridge of Don or Newburgh. This ensures your own transport is available when you finish.

Transport
The organisers will provide transport from Balmedie to the start point at the START of the walk.
There will be no transport from Balmedie provided on the completion of the walk. Transport will only be available from Balmedie between 11am and 12.30pm on the day. Transport is only available to walkers who have pre registered.

The Charity Walk is based on Balmedie and will start from Newburgh. We will bus you from Balmedie to the start.
